From the poker table to the boardroom table

It started in 2016.

I was pregnant, exhausted and sat in a smoky Moroccan casino at 4am. I had just beaten 200 men to win my first international poker tournament.

Teaching friends poker, I watched them grow in confidence - closing client deals and landing promotions.

I had seen first-hand how poker strategy had given me an edge - from my days in banking to the world of tech startups - even helping me negotiate £1million in VC investment.

Seeing the parallels, I set about legitimising poker for the corporate environment - zero gambling, pure strategy. Far from bluff or bravado, it’s deep listening, reading the room, knowing your value.

In our first year, Aces High caught the attention of Richard Branson - who personally endorsed us across his socials. Within months we were featured in the Financial Times, BBC, Metro, The Standard - and CBS News coverage broadcast to 15 million US viewers.

We’ve hosted offsites for global tech giants, international law firms, VCs, hedge funds, PE, family offices and more. And people love it…

Aces High was also recognised at the 2025 UK Startup Awards in the category of Business, Consulting & Management, winning the regional final.
